8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, who considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?

and with a rich man in his death,
although he had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Romani 5 (English Standard Version)

16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.
17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.
19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

8 Dopo l'arresto e la condanna fu tolto di mezzo; e tra quelli della sua generazione chi rifletté che egli era strappato dalla terra dei viventi e colpito a causa dei peccati del mio popolo?
9 Gli avevano assegnato la sepoltura fra gli empi, ma nella sua morte, egli è stato con il ricco, perché non aveva commesso violenze né c'era stato inganno nella sua bocca.
10 Ma piacque al SIGNORE di stroncarlo con i patimenti. Dopo aver dato la sua vita in sacrificio per il peccato, egli vedrà una discendenza, prolungherà i suoi giorni, e l'opera del SIGNORE prospererà nelle sue mani.
11 Egli vedrà il frutto del suo tormento interiore, e ne sarà saziato; per la sua conoscenza, il mio servo, il giusto, renderà giusti i molti, si caricherà egli stesso delle loro iniquità.
12 Perciò io gli darò la sua parte fra i grandi, egli dividerà il bottino con i potenti, perché ha dato sé stesso alla morte ed è stato contato fra i malfattori; perché egli ha portato i peccati di molti e ha interceduto per i colpevoli.

16 Riguardo al dono non avviene quello che è avvenuto nel caso dell'uno che ha peccato; perché dopo una sola trasgressione il giudizio è diventato condanna, mentre il dono diventa giustificazione dopo molte trasgressioni.
17 Infatti, se per la trasgressione di uno solo la morte ha regnato a causa di quell'uno, tanto più quelli che ricevono l'abbondanza della grazia e del dono della giustizia, regneranno nella vita per mezzo di quell'uno che è Gesù Cristo.
18 Dunque, come con una sola trasgressione la condanna si è estesa a tutti gli uomini, così pure, con un solo atto di giustizia, la giustificazione che dà la vita si è estesa a tutti gli uomini.
19 Infatti, come per la disubbidienza di un solo uomo i molti sono stati resi peccatori, così anche per l'ubbidienza di uno solo, i molti saranno costituiti giusti.
20 La legge poi è intervenuta a moltiplicare la trasgressione; ma dove il peccato è abbondato, la grazia è sovrabbondata,
21 affinché, come il peccato regnò mediante la morte, così pure la grazia regni mediante la giustizia a vita eterna, per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, nostro Signore.
