Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling)

My tye is in u hand.

Psalm 31:16

Maar vir my help God altyd, die Here hou my lewe in stand.

Psalm 54:6

Psalm 31 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

13 Ek is vergeet soos iemand wat lankal dood is, ek het geword soos 'n ding wat lê en vergaan.
14 Ek hoor dreigemente van baie; dit dreig van alle kante af. Baie span teen my saam en smee planne om my lewe te neem.
15 Maar ek vertrou op U, Here, ek sê: U is my God.
16 My tye is in u hand. Red my uit die hande van my vyande en vervolgers!
17 Verskyn tog tot my redding, red my deur u onfeilbare liefde.
18 Here, laat my nie teleurgestel staan in my verwagting as ek U aanroep nie. Laat die goddelose teleurgestel staan in hulle verwagting, laat hulle die stilte van die doderyk ingaan.
19 Bring die leuenaars tot swye, dié wat vol is van hulleself en in hoogmoed en veragting teen die regverdige praat.

Psalm 54 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

3 Red my deur u mag, o God, laat aan my reg geskied deur u krag.
4 Hoor my gebed, o God, luister na my woorde,
5 want vyande staan teen my op, geweldenaars soek my lewe, hulle hou geen rekening met God nie. Sela
6 Maar vir my help God altyd, die Here hou my lewe in stand.
7 Laat die onheil wat my teëstanders beplan, op hulleself neerkom. U is getrou: vernietig hulle.
8 Dan sal ek offers aan U bring, selfs meer as wat U vra, ek sal u Naam loof, Here, want U is goed,
9 U het my uit elke benoudheid gered en my oor my vyande laat triomfeer.

English Standard Version

My times are in your hand.

Psalm 31:15

Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.

Psalm 54:4

Psalm 31 (English Standard Version)

12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the whispering of many—
terror on every side!—
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.
14 But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
16 Make your face shine on your servant;
save me in your steadfast love!
17 O Lord, let me not be put to shame,
for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
let them go silently to Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be mute,
which speak insolently against the righteous
in pride and contempt.

Psalm 54 (English Standard Version)

1 O God, save me by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
2 O God, hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers have risen against me;
ruthless men seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves.
4 Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
5 He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.
6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.
