An Bíobla Naofa 1981

D’fhreagair Balám teachtaí Bhálác: Dá dtabharfadh Bálác lán a thí d’ór agus d’airgead dom, ní fhéadfainn aithne an Tiarna mo Dhia a shárú in aon ní beag ná mór.

Uimhreacha 22:18

D’fhreagair Míocáia: Dar an Tiarna beo, cibé a déarfaidh mo Dhia, sin é an briathar a labhróidh mé.

2 Croinicí 18:13

Uimhreacha 22 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

15 Sheol Bálác a thuilleadh prionsaí, níos líonmhaire agus níos céimiúla ná an chéad dream.
16 Thángadar go Balám agus dúradar leis: “Seo teachtaireacht ó Bhálác mac Zipeor: ‘Ná diúltaigh, impím ort, teacht chugam.
17 Caithfidh mé onóracha leat agus déanfaidh mé cibé rud a déarfaidh tú liom. Tar agus cuir mallacht ar an muintir seo dom.’”
18 Ach d’fhreagair Balám teachtaí Bhálác: “Dá dtabharfadh Bálác lán a thí d’ór agus d’airgead dom, ní fhéadfainn aithne an Tiarna mo Dhia a shárú in aon ní beag ná mór.
19 Ach fanaigí féin leis anseo thar oíche, le bhur dtoil, agus gheobhaidh mé amach cad eile atá ag an Tiarna le rá liom.”
20 Tháinig Dia go Balám i gcaitheamh na hoíche, agus dúirt leis: “Nár tháinig na fir seo ag glaoch ort? Éirigh agus téigh leo. Ach ná déan aon ní thar mar a déarfaidh mé leat.”
21 D’éirigh Balám ar maidin agus chuir an diallait ar a láir asail agus chuir chun siúil le taoisigh Mhóáb.

2 Croinicí 18 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

10 Bhí adharca iarainn déanta ag Zidicíá mac Chanáná dó féin. “Seo mar a deir an Tiarna:” ar sé, “‘Déanfaidh tú na hAramaeigh a ropadh leo seo go dtí go scriosfaidh tú iad.’”
11 Rinne na fáithe go léir an tairngreacht chéanna: “Gluais leat go Rámot Gileád,” ar siad, “agus beir bua. Tabharfaidh an Tiarna i lámha an rí é.”
12 An teachtaire a chuaigh ag triall ar Mhíocáia, dúirt sé leis: “Seo iad na fáithe go léir ag labhairt ar aon fhocal le dea-thuar don rí. Labhairse ar aon dul leo agus déan tairngreacht fhabhrach.”
13 Ach d’fhreagair Míocáia: “Dar an Tiarna beo, cibé a déarfaidh mo Dhia, sin é an briathar a labhróidh mé.”
14 Nuair a tháinig sé chun an rí, dúirt an rí: “A Mhíocáia, ar chóir dúinn dul agus Rámot Gileád a ionsaí, nó ligean dó?” D’fhreagair sé: “Gluaisigí agus beirigí bua! Tabharfar in bhur lámha iad.”
15 Ach dúirt an rí: “An minic a chaithfidh mé thú a chur faoi bhrí na mionn gan ach an fhírinne a rá liom in ainm an Tiarna?”
16 Ansin labhair Míocáia:
“Chonaic mé Iosrael go léir scáinte ar na sléibhte
mar chaoirigh gan aoire,
agus dúirt an Tiarna: ‘Níl maistir orthu;
téadh gach duine abhaile faoi shíocháin.’”

2 Chronicles 18:13

Uimhreacha 22 (English Standard Version)

15 Once again Balak sent princes, more in number and more honorable than these.
16 And they came to Balaam and said to him, “Thus says Balak the son of Zippor: ‘Let nothing hinder you from coming to me,
17 for I will surely do you great honor, and whatever you say to me I will do. Come, curse this people for me.’”
18 But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, “Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the Lord my God to do less or more.
19 So you, too, please stay here tonight, that I may know what more the Lord will say to me.”
20 And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, “If the men have come to call you, rise, go with them; but only do what I tell you.”
21 So Balaam rose in the morning and saddled his donkey and went with the princes of Moab.

2 Croinicí 18 (English Standard Version)

10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made for himself horns of iron and said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians until they are destroyed.’”
11 And all the prophets prophesied so and said, “Go up to Ramoth-gilead and triumph. The Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”
12 And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.”
13 But Micaiah said, “As the Lord lives, what my God says, that I will speak.”
14 And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?” And he answered, “Go up and triumph; they will be given into your hand.”
15 But the king said to him, “How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”
16 And he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’”
