Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling)

Met my God by my is geen stadsmuur vir my te hoog nie.

Psalm 18:30

Handelinge 3:8

Psalm 18 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

29 U, Here, laat my lamp helder skyn; my God gee lig as dit donker is om my.
30 Met u hulp loop ek 'n oormag storm, met my God by my is geen stadsmuur vir my te hoog nie.
Elkeen wat by Hom skuiling soek, beskerm Hy.
32 Waarlik, wie anders as die Here is God? Ja, wie anders as ons God is 'n rots?
33 God omgord my met krag; Hy maak my pad voorspoedig.

Handelinge 3 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

9 Al die mense het gesien dat hy loop en God prys;

Acts 3:8

Psalm 18 (English Standard Version)

26 with the purified you show yourself pure;
and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.
27 For you save a humble people,
but the haughty eyes you bring down.
28 For it is you who light my lamp;
the Lord my God lightens my darkness.
29 For by you I can run against a troop,
and by my God I can leap over a wall.
30 This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
31 For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?—
32 the God who equipped me with strength
and made my way blameless.

Handelinge 3 (English Standard Version)

5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.
8 And leaping up he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon's.
