An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Tá m’anam ag brath ort, saor mé ón namhaid is ó chách ar mo thóir.

Salm 31:16

Féach! tá Dia ag teacht i gcabhair orm; tá an Tiarna ag coinneáil an dé ionam.

Salm 54:6

Salm 31 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

13 Is cosúil mé le marbhán a ndearnadh dearmad de,
nó le soitheach a briseadh.
14 Cluinim cogarnach á déanamh ag a lán,
agus imeagla i mo thimpeall.
Cograíonn siad lena chéile i m’aghaidh:
beartaíonn siad mo bhás.
15 Ach is ort atá mo sheasamh, a Thiarna,
deirim: “Is tú mo Dhia.”
16 Tá m’anam ag brath ort, saor mé
ón namhaid is ó chách ar mo thóir.
17 Taispeain do ghnúis ghrianmhar do do ghiolla;
tabhair slán mé i do ghrá.
18 Nár náirítear mé, a Thiarna, toisc go nglaoim ort;
go gcuirtear náire ar na hurchóidigh.
Go gcuirtear ina dtost san uaigh iad;
19 go mbalbhaítear a mbéal bréagach,
a bhíonn ag cáineadh an fhíréin go sotalach
le teann uabhair is tarcaisne.

Salm 54 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

3 Slánaigh mé a Dhia, le d’ainm;
déan mo chúis a agairt le do neart.
4 Éist, a Dhia, le m’urnaí,
tabhair cluas do bhriathra mo bhéil.
5 Óir d’éirigh lucht an díomais amach i m’éadan,
agus tá daoine gan trua ar thóir m’anama;
níl aird dá laghad acu ar Dhia. Selah
6 Féach! tá Dia ag teacht i gcabhair orm;
tá an Tiarna ag coinneáil an dé ionam.
7 Fillfidh an t-olc ar mo naimhde;
díothaigh iad as ucht do dhílse.
8 Déanfaidh mé íobairt duit, a Thiarna, go fonnmhar,
agus molfaidh mé d’ainm toisc gur maith é. Óir d’fhuascail tú ón uile thrioblóid mé
ionas go bhfaca mé mo naimhde á dtreascairt.

English Standard Version

My times are in your hand.

Psalm 31:15

Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.

Psalm 54:4

Salm 31 (English Standard Version)

12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the whispering of many—
terror on every side!—
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.
14 But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
16 Make your face shine on your servant;
save me in your steadfast love!
17 O Lord, let me not be put to shame,
for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
let them go silently to Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be mute,
which speak insolently against the righteous
in pride and contempt.

Salm 54 (English Standard Version)

1 O God, save me by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
2 O God, hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers have risen against me;
ruthless men seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves.
4 Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
5 He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.
6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.
