An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Cuireann sé iontas orthu nach ritheann sibh leo isteach sa tuile chéanna drabhláis agus bíonn siad do bhur maslú.

1 Peadar 4:4

I bhfad uait aon chúis bhréagach.

Eaxodus 23:7

1 Peadar 4 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Ós rud é gur fhulaing Críost sa cholainn, dá bhrí sin, bíodh an tuiscint chéanna mar arm agaibhse, an té a d’fhulaing sa cholainn, gur scar sé leis an bpeaca,
2 ionas nach mairfeadh sé an chuid eile dá shaol ar talamh de réir mianta an duine ach de réir thoil Dé.
3 Is leor an t-am atá thart le déanamh mar is áil leis na gintlithe, ag caitheamh a saoil le ragairne, le hainmhianta, le meisce, le carús, le hól agus le híoladhradh mídhleathach.
4 Cuireann sé iontas orthu nach ritheann sibh leo isteach sa tuile chéanna drabhláis agus bíonn siad do bhur maslú.
5 Ach tabharfaidh siad cuntas don té atá réidh le breithiúnas a thabhairt ar bheo agus ar mhairbh.
6 Uime sin is ea a fógraíodh an dea-scéal do na mairbh, ionas go dtabharfaí breith orthu sa cholainn mar dhaoine, ach go mairfidís sa spiorad de réir Dé.
7 Tá deireadh gach ní ar láimh. Bígí ciallmhar dá bhrí sin agus bíodh smacht agaibh oraibh féin mar mhaithe le bhur n-urnaithe.

Eaxodus 23 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

4 Má bhuaileann tú le damh nó le hasal do namhad ag dul amú, tabhair ar ais chuige é.
5 Má fheiceann tú asal fear d’fhuatha ar lár faoina ualach, in áit é a sheachaint, téigh i gcabhair air á thógáil.
6 Ná déan éigean ar chearta aon bhochtáin libh ina chaingean.
7 I bhfad uait aon chúis bhréagach, agus ná cuir chun báis an fíréan ionraic óir ní scaoilfidh mise saor an ciontach.
8 Ná glac breab, óir dallann breab daoine géara, agus milleann sí cúis na n-ionraic.
9 Ná déan leatrom ar an deoraí; is aithnid duit croí an deoraí, óir ba dheoraithe sibh i dtír na hÉigipte.
10 Cuir d’fhearann ar feadh sé bliana, agus cruinnigh a fhómhar,

They are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you.

1 Peter 4:4

Keep far from a false charge.

Exodus 23:7

1 Peadar 4 (English Standard Version)

1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.
3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;
5 but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.
7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.

Eaxodus 23 (English Standard Version)

4 “If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall bring it back to him.
5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying down under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it; you shall rescue it with him.
6 “You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in his lawsuit.
7 Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.
8 And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.
9 “You shall not oppress a sojourner. You know the heart of a sojourner, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
10 “For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield,
