Jesus asked the scribes and the elders:
What is this that is written: “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone”?
Luke 20:17
The word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

He will come and destroy those tenants and give the vineyard to others.” When they heard this, they said, “Surely not!” |

But he looked directly at them and said, “What then is this that is written: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’? |

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.” |

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. |
| 18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” |
